The world needs innovation. As global events impact our daily lives and the world becomes increasingly digitized, innovation is the key to moving forward in business. It has always been the case, but more and more companies are now waking up to this reality and to the multitude of opportunities that innovation offers. Somebody asked me recently “What leads to innovation?”. As an entrepreneur and start-up founder, my initial response was “Innovation is something that we just do. It’s a natural part of our day-to-day lives at PhaseZero and at the core of everything we do and create. Innovation is a way of life.”
However, this question got me thinking in more detail about the hows and the whys of the innovation process, and what indeed does lead to innovation. Is innovation born out of a need or simply because someone asked the right question to the right person? Who are the real tech entrepreneurs? What will trigger the next generation of tech innovations?
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be exploring these and other pertinent questions and looking more closely at innovation in the tech world, especially in the e-commerce sector.
